Worship is a way of life, not just merely something we do on Sunday morning.
Worship is living every day with our eyes wide open to the world around us and the kingdom within, surrendering ourselves to Christ.
Our every action can be centered on Christ, choosing to be His hands and feet.
(based on Philippians 2:1-11)
Making music is just one manifestation of worship, but it lifts us up.
(based on Colossians 3:16)
Music and song draw us into the mystery and the wonder of the Word and Table. Our music is a ministry that lifts the whole Community. Music and song unite us with the Spirit and with one another. Everybody sings and all are welcome to join in.
Our musical selections feature music composed from 1500 to the present day that includes congregational hymns, psalms, anthems, selections from oratorios, masses, and more.
Our choir assists at every Sunday liturgy as well as Lenten, Holy Week, and Christmas seasons. Our Hand Bell Choir performs for special holy days. Throughout the year, we invite professional musicians to join us including Jesse Martin (oboe), Danna Sundet (oboe), Erik Sundet (trumpet), Mary Beth Ions (violin), and the Amethyst Trio as well as many pianists and other musicians from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Candy Kwok is our current pianist.
The Saint Peter Community Choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 pm September through May (after Labor Day through Memorial Day) and on Sunday mornings from 10:15-10:45 am. From June-August, summer choir rehearses Sunday mornings only.
